Ever have that feeling of getting lost in a story? Where you lose any awareness of your surroundings and become so engaged in the story that you see nothing else? 

This is a state that scientific literature calls narrative transportation, and it turns out to be a critical part of changing perspectives and driving action with your story.

CHARACTER IDENTIFICATION

More than liking a character in a story, character identification happens when we take the perspective of that character and it's as though we are experiencing the story through their eyes (the apprentices and the graduates).

When identification with a character is strong, your audience will feel the story as real, and they'll internalize the goals of the character.

Before anything else, we'll start by understanding your objectives and the outcomes you're looking to achieve 

The story finding, story development, and video production are then all engineered to transport the audience and create identification with the characters.

When that happens, perspectives change, action happens, and the connection to the "POWERING CHICAGO" brand is successfully made

"STORY FINDING"

 

We do the research and interview dozens of relevant people (Apprentices, program graduates and teachers) in search of the strongest story that is also relevant to your objectives (get new apprentices to apply the program).

Once the story has been found, with our knowledge and expertise, we define the purpose of the story using the five Keywords tactic.

We develop a strong story structure, that will immerse and emotionally connect to your audience.

We bring the story to life in an emotionally moving video that compels action.

Using our local partners, THE BLACKCAT Media uses professional lighting and audio equipment to bring your story to life.

PHASE 2: Finding the Story - 4/5 work days

  • + 10/15 Interviews of selected apprentices and teachers

 

PHASE 3: Developing the Story - 3/4 work days

  • Finding the Desire, the Motivation and the Uniqueness of the remarkable characters

  • Story structure creation 

 

PHASE 4: Video Production and Edition Process - 5/6 work days

  • Video Shoot capturing from start to finish, footage and b-roll recording
  • Professional Lighting and Audio Rental
  • Two Production Assistants
